ANNUAL MEETING 2002

The 2002 annual luncheon meeting was held on February 23,2002 in Colusa, CA. at the Methodist Church. The meeting commenced at 12:00 PM. As the members sat at their tables, they were provided a quiz on the material from recent Wagon Wheels publications. In a addition to the quiz, there were also word search and crossword puzzles.

President Charles Martin opened the meeting with a speech. After Mr. Martin's speech, Mr. Gene Serr from the California Conference of Historical Societies talked about this organization. Colusi County Historical Society is one of 700 Histoical Societies within this organization. It was founded in 1954 to help preserve and share California history.

After Serr's speech, a delicious lunch and dessert was served by the Methodist Ladies Group. After lunch, Dr. Gene Russell gave a speech on the annual "History Camp" for children. "This gives the children an opportunity to get involved with California history, as well as have fun", Russell said. After the speech, Russell presented a slideshow of one of the most recent camps.

A great time was had by all members. Mr. Martin mentioned that there will be another field trip for the spring meeting, the date, time and place will be announced.
