Cemeteries and Graves
William B. Ide Grave
William Brown Ide, was the first and only "President" of the California Republic. His grave is in the Monroeville Cemetery, which is located off of State Route 45 between Colusa and Hamilton City. This cemetery was a victim of vandalism and members of the Colusi County Historical Society had it stopped. Unfortunately, nearly all of the original tombstones were damaged beyond repair and had to be replaced. |
Martha Hughes Grave

Hambright Grave
Robert Hambright
settled in the foothills, west of present-day Orland in the
late 1850's. This made him one of the first settlers to
arrive in the area after Granville P. Swift. Hambright
Creek, which runs through Orland, is named after Robert
Hambright. Robert Hambright is buried on a knoll in the
Orland Buttes overlooking the creek named after him. The
grave is located on private property in a remote area. Robert Hambright had one
daughter, Ida and she married into the Albert Papst family. The Papsts
are another pioneer family of the Orland area.
