Donellda Hendrickson was a teacher at the Calumet School. She Started teaching in 1938 with a total of 17 pupils. Her husband, Harold Hendrickson played an important part in the development of agricultural aviation and aerial firefighting.

Betty Burrows Ferreira was in the last graduating class at the Chrome School in 1949. The Chrome School was a one room schoolhouse, which is now restored and displayed at the Heritage Trail at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland.
